    Inner Game (2002)

Inner Game is an experimental piece for a quartet. Aggregation of real and surreal images and also the interaction in between serious and playful moments are the main characteristics of this work. My aim is to reflect one’s mental state in relationship to an object. The object in this piece is simply a tennis ball. I am interested in reflecting how the perception of an object transforms in the mind, and how this translates to the physical body. Essentially I am looking at the interaction between the mental state and the physical body. By increasing the number of the objects (balls) and using them in unusual ways, I seek to create a dreamlike state. The entire piece is based on the gradual transformation of images and events that represents one’s inner game between her multiple selves such as self-struggle, psychological conflicts, etc.
